We thoroughly enjoyed participating in the 2019 Historic Home for the Holidays Tour, benefiting Promise Ridge, a women and children homeless shelter.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the rain this spring, especially this past week as I have been working on the original farmhouse front porch.

Our family absolutely LOVES the Fourth of July!Just as soon as school lets out, up goes the RED, WHITE, and BLUE. My decorations are inexpensive and simple, and I try to add something new each year.

Sometimes the home projects that make the greatest improvement are FREE. But what these particular projects lack in cost, always make up for in hard work. When we bought Pheasant Run a year ago last February, everything was covered with several feet of snow....

Like every spring, there are lots of annual maintenance jobs that aren't super fun, but just need to be done. Some of these drudgery tasks at Pheasant Run are the never-ending raking of leaves, cleaning out flowers beds, pumping the sludge from the pond, cleaning window wells, etc.

It is said, “the eye is the window to the soul”. It is a biblical reference to Christ’s Sermon on the Mount where he taught his disciples that the eye is the light of the soul.
