Pizza Amore

Eight years ago this month, I took this picture of what would be the first pizza of thousands that we would cook.

Little did we know, our pizza oven(s) would be such a huge part of our lives. We have had thousands of people over to share our passion. We have hosted neighborhood Ladies Night, Skyline Football and Baseball teams, SHS Student Government, large groups of college kids, family and class reunions, Fourth of July celebrations, mission farewells, birthday parties, wedding receptions, and even "Trick or Treat for Pizza" every Halloween.

There is something profoundly satisfying about sharing a meal. Eating together, breaking bread together, is one of the oldest and most fundamentally unifying of human experiences.

Now, as Curtis and I find ourselves firmly in the last half of our lives, and someday nearing retirement, we are making a concerted effort to spend more time doing the things we love. Entertaining and sharing our pizza passion here at Pheasant Run, seems to top the list!

Below you can see the process of building of the pizza oven.

Finally, we have set Friday the 13th of July for the Wood Fired Pizza Party! After a computer generated drawing, the winners were notified via email. Big thanks to everyone that entered. We really appreciate your continued support and interest!

Sweet Sixteen

On December 31st, our baby girl turned 16! It doesn't seem possible, but the gray hair and wrinkles tell me it's true. For her birthday gift, she asked if we could please, finally, finish her bedroom.
